What a Blessing — End of 2024!
January 11, 2025 · CCCG
This past December, we ran three camps — one in Rio Dulce and two in Monterrico.
Rio Dulce
The first camp was in Rio Dulce, with support from Anchor Church in Maine, reaching all the villages around our site in Seha.
Monterrico
The second and third camps were in Monterrico — one for the youngest kids and another for the older group — with support from Two Rivers Church in Tennessee. What a blessing, with kids joining us from both the city and the surrounding villages.
Christmas Dinner for Our Kids
Special Christmas Gifts
This year, we received 290 Christmas gifts from Mt. Guilead Church in Georgia, collected from their church members. These gifts went to an equal number of our kids, making it a very special Christmas. We pray that next year, more churches will join us in this project — we simply ask for any gently used gifts you have at home.
Covered by a Miracle
While driving to our first camp in Rio Dulce, a truck skidded toward us on a rainy night and collided with our van, which was carrying part of our camp staff. Praise the Lord, only three people were hurt. One had to return to the city for medical attention, while the other two — despite their injuries — chose to stay. We're very proud of them for working with everything they had at camp, even through the pain.
We lost the van in the accident, and while insurance covered part of it, we can't afford a replacement with that amount alone. Please pray with us for God to provide the funds — and if you feel led to help us replace this van, please let us know.
Prayer Requests
Our church stayed very active through the season — three Christmas celebrations, our Christmas dinner, and ringing in the new year with communion together. We're expecting to do even more in 2025. Please keep praying with us, specifically for:
- Finishing our parking lot — there are still licensing issues with the construction permit.
- A sponsor to help us visit churches in the USA this year.
- Teams to come help us with projects.
- Wisdom for our feeding program.
- A sponsor for our new van.
